An atmospheric and beautifully personal intimate Northumberland wedding in the award-winning coastal town of Bamburgh.

Freya and Craig’s wedding in Bamburgh was a beautiful, intimate celebration of love filled with personal and deeply spiritual touches. Their ceremony took place at St Aidan’s Church, led by their friend and priest Brogan who created a personal and moving service. Their three family dogs even joined in, barking their own joyful applause. After the vows, the classic Northumberland weather made its presence known as the heavens opened in a downpour (they say rain on your wedding day is good luck!), but the skies soon cleared just enough for us to slip down to Bamburgh beach for some couple’s portraits. With Bamburgh Castle standing tall in the background and stormy skies overhead, we created some atmospheric portraits that perfectly captured the dramatic beauty of a Northumberland wedding day and Freya & Craig’s love for adventure and the outdoors. The celebrations continued with a cosy and relaxed reception at The Potted Lobster, just a stone’s throw from the castle, where the family shared a meal and kindly invited me to join them. Freya had baked their wedding cake herself, along with delicious brownie favours for the table—such a thoughtful and personal touch that made the day feel even more special.
